Is: honor professor of the National Chi Nan University, National Hsing Hua University, and Providence University
Was: President to Providence University, National Chi Nan University, and Dean to Department of Engineering, National Chi Nan University

Lee spoke highly of Cyberhood systems developed by Kinghood Tech. He believes the platform Cyberhood systems provides has the best file management capacity. He can manage from where he is files from multiple locales, version control and track the progress of his collaboration with his team.

For students' work from three universities I have been using a FTP system. Students would upload their paper to the server where I go and retrieve the files for grading. Three universities installed three different FTP accounts in one computer for me. To have separate accounts to go and manage the files has become a nuisance. I almost had a breakdown.

One of my outstanding students, Richie T. H. Hu, has developed a web application, Cyberhood systems, that manages files in WebHD that goes beyond time restrition and locale limits. Now that I have used it for some time, I can proudly say that it took all my troubles in file management away. I can now work even when I'm overseas.

Cyberhood systems is like the Groupware systems. Members in any organization, during collaboration, would have to track their progress and keep records. Cyberhood does all that for them. For example, publishers often have troubles in error for lack of a version control system. I really hope they will adopt Cyberhood and smooth the process of publishing.

At present there are many companies outsource in China. With Cyberhood systems, they keep track of their communications, workflows, and version cotnrol their projects. That way, one can keep real work done without much troubles caused by team members and lost communications.

Cyberhood has one very advantegeous tool and that is, Workflow. It is an application specifically designed for organizations in Taiwan. The workflow moves with signers: initiator and decision signers with joint signers and sequential joint signers and in the end, assigner. Such workflow keep precise control of any workload inside the organization. I can see that a whole lot of work can be done within a tight deadline because of this

Purchasing is one of the most commonest examples. It involves a lot of people: decision makers from all levels inside the organization, the bookkeeper and accountant and purchasing agent. An systematic workflow is the key to stay in control during the process.

If you are interested in Cyberhood systems, go ahead and give Hu a call. His number is 02-22369917. On my part, I believe publishers should take advantage of this management tool.

I've watched recently on TV about "Cloud computation". Upon looking it up in some software magazines, I realized that I was in the "Cloud" all the time now, not necessarily knowing the term. As early a 2002, I have backed up all my files in a remote webHD via my computer....

One of my outstanding students has developed a web application, Cyberhood systems. I use it now to manage my files in WebHD it provides. All my dissertation and my students' paper and all the work in progress, too. My collaboration with my students and collegues are all done using version control tracking system in Cyberhood....

The WebHD keeps all my students' dissertation and my presentations slides. Any modification or rewrite will also be kept using Version Control Tracking. It keeps all the versions of a file no matter hom many versions by how many hands. When an accident did happen the most recent change didn't get saved, there would always a previous version to go back to.

Although I have to deal with all kinds of information almost every day, and I travel all around the world, I never carry a computer with me. As long as I have Internet access to where I am going to, I retrieve my files from there and prep my speech like so. Before Cyberhood, I used to mail in my video files for my lectures. Now I have WebHD that saves me the trouble of emailing.

Many enterprises will surely be benefited by adapting Cyberhood systems. Business owners who are in business travel can remotely manage their business at home.

Frankly, while all of a sudden everyone is talking about cloud computing, it seems this shoud be a foreign idea. I am more worried that our government may overlook Cyberhood and seek cooperation with tech companies from another country. We should be ambitious enough to develop our own software in the "Cloud", applying the most current cloud computation technology. We will definitely grow better with our government subsidy.
